4 FREE ways to show appreciation for your veterinarian infographic

After posting my previous blog post on Veterinarian Appreciation Day 2023, I decided the content at the end of that post could be made into an infographic on ways pet parents can show their appreciation for their veterinarians.

#1 Be patient

The COVID pandemic may be over, but the number of pets it brought hasn’t changed. Your vet is trying to do their best for all their patients, so be patient when asking for and attending your appointment.

#2 Be kind to their staff

Your vet wouldn’t be able to do their job without all their staff. When receptionists and vet techs/nurses are yelled at one too many times for things out of their control like prices and wait times, they quit, which just makes wait times longer and the vet’s job harder.

#3 Respect their education

Your vet worked hard starting from high school to get good grades so they could get into vet school. They spent 8+ years studying to be a vet. Google didn’t go to vet school and hasn’t examined your pet. Respect your vet’s advice—even if you don’t agree, there’s no call for accusations.

#4 Say “thank you”

There’s a reason saying “thank you” is one of the first things we teach our children. It’s an acknowledgement that the other person matters, that their time is valuable, and that you appreciate the thought and effort they’ve made for you. It doesn’t matter if they’re being paid or not—just as you would thank a human doctor, thank your vet.

June 18th is Veterinarian Appreciation Day!

But that doesn’t mean it’s the only day of the year you’re allowed to say “thank you” to your vet. You are allowed to show appreciation for your vet on any day of the year! 😉
